Orange Delight
Perhaps a suspended organism caught mid-becoming.
This work embodies the fragile, luminous and often uncomfortable process of returning to the self. Inspired by months of inner excavation - through breath work, spiritual practice, physical movement, and energetic release - this piece is a portal into the liminal. It is soft and raw, glistening and torn, unknown and familiar. At core this piece is its own being, its own home.
Materials: Paper-maché, paper-maché Clay, spray paint, epoxy resin, mica pigment, alcohol ink, flocking, monofilament illusion cord
Dimensions: 7.5 in x 4.5 in x 4.5 in
Weight: 11 oz.
Your piece comes with everything needed for a simple ceiling installation:
– Monofilament illusion cord (clear): pre-cut length with more than enough to hang your piece at your desired height.
– 2 metal crimps: small compression sleeves used to create a secure loop with the cord — this is how I attach the cord to the ceiling hook. (Loop example shown — pliers or crimping tool required, not included.)
– 1 heavy-duty ceiling hook with wall anchor: ideal for more secure installs or heavier pieces (requires pre-drilling with a 6mm drill bit).
– 2 small screw-in ceiling hooks: simple, lightweight option — easily twist into drywall or wood by hand. These work just fine for me however I do not have children or pets at this time, so keep that in mind when choosing your hook.
– Display fiber: extra synthetic hair, for aesthetic enhancement if desired.
Note: I use an improved clinch knot (Fisherman’s knot) to tie the monofilament cord to the hook attached to the sculpture.
